We have exciting exhibits planned for 2009 and invite our visitors to stop by and peruse the artwork. Whether you are taking a walk during your lunch break, or come into the city for shopping or a night on the town, be sure to stop by and see what’s new at Elm City Artists. Each day there will be a different artist at the gallery and perhaps you can view a new creation in the works.
In the “Color Your World” exhibit you will find multi-layered paintings in collage/mixed media by Regina Thomas. She is always evolving, utilizing her authority in the craft to stimulate and intrigue the viewer. Sharon Morgio’s watercolors grab the viewer with an incredible sense of color and composition combined with unusual points of view. Laurie Marchessault’s still life works in oil portrays her skills in taking from life the most trivial and creating a narrative with color and composition that no matter how commonplace, is elevated to a masterpiece. Frank Bruckmann, oil painter and a lover of plein-air, offers landscapes along the east coast. He has devoted his life to his art, with a sophistication that dominates his composition. Ralph Schwartz is a multi-faceted artist who excels in oils, pastels and pottery. His oils and pastels invoke subtle distinctions in hue and value. His subject matter ranges from plein-air landscapes to realistic renderings of the architecture that is uniquely Yale’s.
Our artists’ works are in numerous private and corporate collections. If you are a collector, need a gift or just love to look at art; Elm City Artists gallery is the place to visit.
